about

Sometimes it is necessary for the performer to actually hold the microphone in order to get an exact representation of the friction and molecular disturbance of the metal being used. The 48" tam tam offers a great natural reverberation, and as in all the recordings here, there is no additional modification of the instruments played. These are not "musical compositions", as represented here, but aural soundscapes composed as the sounds are manifest in realtime. A true expression of an artist's conception of abstract acoustics.
