This piece was designed to give the listener a chance to perceive what is actually set up in the "gong room" studio. Several recording devices were placed in this setting, and additional tracks were added after a live "tour" of the surrounding instruments was complete. First heard are a variety of iron chinese balls that have a small bearing inside that "plays" very small tines. Later, after the super-ball effects, a few larger chimes from an extensive windchime collection can be heard. The featured tam-tam on this recording would be the 26" Paiste from which the title is derived. Please come back to hear Moore.
