about

The interesting thing about the echo used on this instrument is that it was produced by a direct input from the Hammond organ into channel one of a Teac 2340 simul-synch deck. That channel was fed out and directly into channel two, which was fed into channel three and then to channel four, which was then relayed back to channel one, creating an electronic loop with analog tape. Particular attention had to be given to the output and input levels on this tape recorder, and no sound was captured acoustically. It was all done by-passing the speaker on the organ using headphones.
