about

Ken and Frank met on Wednesday nights for about a year and when some recordings were selected for a compact disc to be shared with friends, Elastic Collision became their name. Every week the percussion rack, an array of drums, two keyboard synthesizers, and many small tables full of metal objects were set up in a large room upstairs at Anvil Creations. Microphones were placed in strategic places, and the synths were plugged directly into a mixing board with the Shure SM 57's. The Minimoog played an important part in all of this, but some of the best samples on the Emax were from Northsound, and were pretty far out! Oh, and the fanfare trumpet sound at the end is from a traditional Tibetan collapsable horn called a rag-dung. Enjoy.
