During the year 2020, there was a series of albums that have the Short Story Synth in common. Ken has taken the shortest compositions from these albums: Vast Din through the 2021 release Smoke, and mashed two tracks together for each of these pieces on Dolphin.

All together, there are hours of recording time and composing that went into the production of this album. Dolphin was a working title for some of the inventions that were later split up into many different releases, so it was the obvious choice to name this collection Dolphin.
