about

Welcome to the third volume of sample music from the many years of recordings at Anvil Creations Studio. Volume One was full of first recordings that would probably only appeal to Ken's dedicated fans. Volume Two had many tracks that were unavailable elsewhere, and some still are not. This third volume begins at the turn of the century, and continues with a collaboration between Frank Ashley, Jr. and Ken Moore.

There is an introduction to reverse tracking on analog deck with the next two pieces, and an early demonstration of this technique in composition can be found on "Frame of Reference" as "In a Field With Flowers and a Toilet". After this you will be exposed to the sound art of what Ken has called abstract acoustic music. Many of his tam-tam recordings can be found on the "Heavy Metal" releases (Phaze 1-5).

This collection presents the compositions in an interesting order, and it is well worth the effort to allow oneself to be immersed in the sounds that have been preserved mostly on analog tape, with the last two tracks that have been recorded digitally. It was a transformational decade for Ken and the beginning of a new era for Anvil Creations Studio.
